About women for change

Women for Change (“kvinner for endring” in Norwegian) is a non-profit organization established in Norway in April 2021. Our objective is to empower women through education, employment, and entreprenourship, enabling them to achieve long-term financial independence and social participation.

We operate projects in both Norway and Afghanistan, adpating our approaches to local contexts while maintaining a strong focus on dignity, sustainability, and impact.

Work in norway

In Norway, we focus on the integration and inclusion of women with minority backgrounds into norwegian society and the labour market.
Our programmes address:
- Employment and job readiness
. Education and skills development
- Entrprenourship
- Mental health and well-being

Educational and skills-based programmes in Afghanistan

Afghanistan, we operate educational and livelihood-focused programmes for women under highly restrictive conditions.
We currently provide:
- English courses in Kabul and Faryab
- Entreprenourship and skills training, with a focus on income generation

Entreprenourship and tailoring programme

Our entreprenourshipinitiatives aim to enable women to achieve financial independence by learning market-relevant skills and starting small buisnesses. Due to current restrictions on Afghan women's right to work and education, we focus on skills that are feasible, culturally accepted, and in demand. One such skill is tailoring, a long-established profession on Afghanistan where custom-made clothing is widely used.

Participants in our two tailorng centres:
- Complete a 4-6 mnth training programme
- Begin earning income by taking customer orders upon completion

This model allows women to work within existing constraints while supporting themselves and their families.
